Pre-Law Advisor Member Subsidies
2025 WAPLA/SWAPLA Conference
To assist SWAPLA members we are providing subsidies to help offset costs of attending.
For up to 30 pre-law advisors, SWAPLA will reimburse all expenses (conference registration, 2 nights accommodations and the conference hotel, travel, and any meals not covered by the conference) for any current pre-law SWAPLA member working in the SWAPLA region (AR, LA, OK, or TX) on a first come, first served basis.
If you are a newer advisor planning to attend the pre-conference “Nuts and Bolts of Pre-Law Advising” workshop, SWAPLA will cover 3 nights of accommodation.

SWAPLA Swing
To be eligible, you must be a member of SWAPLA and be a pre-law advisor at an institution that does NOT hold any sort of law fair at or sponsored by your college, university, or another APLA.
- Minimum five students plus advisor required. SWAPLA will provide $350 to cover expenses upon confirmation of your attendance by
site supervisor. - For every additional student you bring, you will receive an additional $50. (For example, an advisor plus 7 students would be $450).

LSAC Minority Serving Institutions
LSAC offers subsidies (up to $600) to assist prelaw advisors working at Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) with the cost of attending PLANC and regional APLA conferences. These subsidies were designed to financially facilitate professional development while equipping prelaw advisors at MSIs with the knowledge, skills, and innovative strategies they need to guide, support, and positively impact diverse students’ legal education journeys.
